Why Choose an Independent Midwife?
We are fully qualified midwives who have chosen to work outside the NHS in order to provide a more comprehensive and satisfying service to women. Our practice is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and we are required to maintain our knowledge and clinical skills in the same way as midwives working within the NHS.
Working outside the NHS allows us to work flexibly, tailoring care to the woman’s individual needs and enabling us to develop a closer and more therapeutic relationship with them and their families.
We predominantly book women who intend to give birth at home, although we continue to provide birth support for women whose situation necessitates giving birth in hospital. We are particularly happy to support women who have been dissatisfied with their previous birth experiences.
